It was a clear chilly morning. We had gotten a dusting of snow overnight. I stood at my backdoor watching the birds at the feeder when I caught a glimpse of a much larger bird swooping through.
I was sent a screen shot of our pastor and me from when we were teaching an adult Bible study class on zoom. It was during the pandemic. We knew keeping our adult study group active was important. There we were, each in a different town, but sharing a screen.
Driving home from our church the other night I found myself going in and out of fog. Each little valley or gully was full of dense fog so thick it was nearly impossible to see. When you came up the hill on the other side the sky would be clear.
It is nearly impossible to drive anywhere in Northern Virginia without coming upon a large orange sign with big black letters warning ROAD WORK AHEAD. It’s been this way for some time. Traffic is slowed, stopped, re-directed, and well you know exactly what I mean.
In yoga a “Tree Pose” is a balance pose. Technically one leg is holding you upright. The other leg is touching it using your foot at some point along your weight bearing leg. Meanwhile your arms can be in any number of places.
So, what's new with you? Well, it's a new year so there must be something. Maybe a new job, car, house, or computer? Or maybe you were thinking more along the line of something to do like a new hobby, or new sport, or goal to speak a foreign language?
