My four-year-old granddaughter likes a “nature walk” after dinner. In fairness, she really loves being outside, but I think most of these walks are delay tactics to avoid bedtime. She and her mom head out, with Molly skipping ahead.
“If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all.” I heard that as a child, and oddly enough it was much easier to follow that rule when I was a child than it is as an adult. I feel like we grow more resolute in our opinions as we age.
I have taken yoga classes off and on for years, which does not make me a Hindu or Buddhist. Recently I attended a yoga retreat and heard this story, which left me heart broken and embarrassed.

Sometimes it takes a very personal experience to reinforce what we know deep inside. It was supposed to be my half day at work, but with a lot to do I decided to report in early. As I headed out the door of one office to cross the hall to my own office I had a near collision with a co-worker.
Recently I had the pleasure of having dinner with a dear friend from high school. Our conversation was comfortable. As each of us took our personal journey down memory lane we caught the other one up on all they had missed.
