The Closet’s Everything Christmas event raised more than $11,000 to help support the community through grants and scholarships.
???More than 100 volunteers gave 967 hours over eight days to sort, price, and display thousands of donations that have been dropped off at The Closet since Christmas 2025. Volunteers represented about 15 of The Closet’s member congregations and groups, including Haven of Northern Virginia, the Fortnightly Library, Herndon Woman’s Club, NWFCU and Reston Garden Club, plus South Lakes and Herndon high schools. Many thanks to all who contributed by donating, volunteering, and shopping!
If you didn’t get a chance to shop the sale at the Moose Lodge, the unsold items are at the thrift shop. Check ‘em out!
Know a high school student who might like to help? We need them! Students at Herndon, South Lakes, and Park View high schools should register by responding to volunteer opportunities posted by their school guidance/career office. If your student attends a private school, please ask me to send you the student link. We will verify volunteer hours.
