The Yarn Yarn Sisterhood Announces our 2026 Knitting Olympics Results!
The Yarn Yarn Sisterhood is recovering from a very exciting knitting Olympics. Thankfully, no injuries were reported! We had entries from VA, NC, AZ, and DC. There were 33 entries in 8 events. We awarded 9 gold medals (there was a tie). Dot Chambers won 4 of those with her crocheted entries. The entries were displayed during the Senior Luncheon on the 25th and will be displayed again on Sunday March 1. Some of the items will be for sale and proceeds will go to the refurbishing of the community room at FBC. It was great fun. The following countries were selected by our artisans to be represented – USA, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Puerto Rico, Ireland, and Canada. We can save you from looking it up – many items were in red and white! They started their projects with the opening day on February 6 and stopped on the closing day of February 22. It was a fun time. We hope you will take the time to check out the entries and thanks to everyone who participated.
