As many of you know our church has been involved with The Closet for decades. One way, FBC continue to support this long-standing ministry is to ask the congregation to volunteer a few hours of their time to help out at The Closet.
We have six assigned dates to help at The Closet through August: Thursday, April 23; Saturday, May 16; Monday, June 8; Thursday, July 2; Monday, July 27; and Wednesday, August 19.
Please plan to volunteer at The Closet sometime this quarter. The Closet may provide exactly what you are looking for – a friendly atmosphere, work that matters, and a way to serve the community.
Volunteer shifts last two or three hours, depending on your schedule. Tasks vary depending on what’s needed and your stamina. If you need to sit, you can tag clothing or create price tags. If you can walk around the store, there’s merchandise to display. If you can’t make it on an assigned day, email store manager Tempestt Harmon at theclosetinc@verizon.net (note “I want to volunteer” in the subject line) and let her know which date works. There is always something to do!
Thanks to recent volunteers: Barbara Ann helped on our most recent assigned date. Bill and Vicki check and price games weekly. Jack cashiers twice a week. Laura plays with toys five days a week. We’d love to have you join us!
