Seeing the Future
Linda Soller | Nov 17, 2025
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see the future? Maybe you do see the future, I don’t, but I have wondered. I rarely start something new thinking about how it will end. Oh, maybe I think it’s a project with potential, but that is different than seeing it come to an end. I have always been that person who says let’s give it a try, who knows if it will work or not. The end will be what it is.
I feel like we Christians have an advantage in this area. We have God’s promises. We have hope, and we see a future in God that others may not. Sometimes, for some Christians that is still not enough. For some the trials and tribulations of everyday life can be pretty daunting. If you sometimes feel that way, let me tell you it’s amazing what God can do with you and your efforts. There will be times when the problems seem to far outweigh the successes. Something you do may seem to go unnoticed and you think why do I bother? Then one day, down the road, you find out just how impactful it was. God works so powerfully and often so quietly that we may be tempted to think He isn’t working at all. And when we do, we are wrong. What we have in God is a constant companion, a constant supporter, a constant teacher, and a loving guardian. He sees when it’s time to start and knows when it’s time to stop. We need to keep the lines of communication open. We need to know that God, who sees all, may change His mind. But He will never abandon us.
As we go into this coming holiday season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, let’s be open to new beginnings and accepting of endings. Let’s honor God by welcoming change. Let’s honor Him by showing patience. I can’t see the future, but I know it will be amazing and I’m looking forward to it.
Be strong in the Lord and be kind.
