What A Gift

Over the past few weeks, we have explored some of the gifts you can give to yourself. I think you know about gifts you can give to others. There is one important gift that we have not specifically discussed. It may not be the brightest wrapped gift under your tree. You may or may not even recognize it as a gift. But I’m hoping you do. It’s such an important gift that even if you haven’t identified with it before this is the perfect time to own it. It’s a gift everyone should own regardless of their wealth or power, their job or education, their race, or their heritage. To explain this gift, I will rely on a quote from the Bible, the New International Version to be specific.

Luke 2: 8-11

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.” 

What a gift we have all been given. Merry Christmas!
