Grace Inspired Unity

Linda Soller | Jan 27, 2020

A tornado wipes out the main street of a small town. A hurricane crosses an island leveling buildings and lives. That 100-year flood just happened for the second time in five years. Fires light the sky and incinerate an ancient forest leaving mankind and animals homeless. Tragedy and hardship seem to strike daily. The scale is often hard to comprehend. As prayers are raised for the victims the stories begin to emerge of recovery.

Our simple human hearts long for a life without sorrow or strife, but our minds know that is not to be. In a world where humans and nature interact there will always be struggle. Nature is behaving as it always has, but mankind has built towns, homes, and lives which are sometimes in the path of nature. Most people desire to be good, but often fail to be kind and forgiving, leaving room for conflict and greed to flourish.

Out of stories of tragedy and sorrow come stories of unity and community. The challenges of disasters leave no time for indifference. People rally to help their neighbors, businesses find bottom line success in helping communities recover, and social status has no meaning when children are left lifeless in schools where they should be safe. At times when great chaos reigns, God steps in with His grace. His grace inspires unity. His grace helps each individual feel connected to those who are struggling as they are.  Ages, skin tones, income, and education seem trivial when the need to simply survive is our reality. Denial of man’s impact on nature, cultures, and our children’s future is the excuse of the weak. God is anything but weak. God provides each of us with the grace we need to share, to support, and to love one another. God’s grace inspires a unity of life in all its forms, a need to nurture as He nurtures us.

In the pale light of the dawning of a new day God’s grace hangs over us, enveloping the world, unifying all that exist on our planet. Grace inspired unity offers solutions to questions we fear to even ask.

Be humble, be grateful, and be love in our world this week! :o) Linda
