One More Time
Linda Soller | Nov 20, 2023
I’ve always heard that your memory goes or at least gets spotty as you grow older. If I am honest, playing the old card (my memory is not what it used to be) can come in handy. That is not the case for this week’s blog. I have not forgotten that the poem in this blog was used last year. I haven’t forgotten the wonderful luncheon which made the writing of this poem necessary. As a matter of fact, it’s because of this year’s senior Thanksgiving lunch at our church that I decided to use the poem one more time. Some of you are thinking, she repeats herself a lot. You are correct. Most of the time it’s not intentional, but this week it is. This time of year offers so many opportunities to share with friends and family, it’s a feast of events, hope, and love. With all of that in mind I knowingly and lovingly offer my poem to you one more time. Happy Thanksgiving.
SHARE THE FEAST
He said,
Come gather at the table.
There is so much to share.
The feast is set before you,
With grace and loving care.
Come sit and see the faces,
Of those so long away,
And smile to one another,
For such a special day.
Come speak of dreams and wonders,
Cast out your cares and woes,
Just focus on the friendship,
Of those you’ve come to know.
Come rest in the forgiveness,
That comes without request,
To each of you who gathers,
As My very special guests.
Come gather in thanksgiving,
Leave back your fear and dread,
Come share the feast of living,
Is what our Father said.
Be the love in the world : ) Linda
