Spring Has Sprung
Linda Soller | Mar 24, 2025
Leave it to Spring to impress. The first day (last Thursday) Started cool and sunny, ended warm and rainy, and it began as a calm still day but finished with gusty winds. Yes, Spring managed to cram all of her weather options into one day. Spring is such an over achiever!
With the arrival of Spring the magazines seem compelled to remind us of spring cleaning (personally I never got on that band wagon), or question us about our clutter, and sometimes even encourage us to get an early start on our yard work. Along this line I recently read a book about A Year of Living Simply. Much to my surprise it didn’t focus on the standard tasks. Instead, it focused on recognizing the simple pleasures of living. The author’s simple pleasures were not necessarily mine, but she did a good job of explaining the impact of simple pleasures on one’s life. I was just relieved she did not try to tell me how to fold my clothes after disposing of anything in my wardrobe I haven’t worn in the last two weeks! Ok, so I exaggerate.
Spring is a time of beginnings. Trees are budding, birds are nesting, and graduations/weddings abound. Spring is a special time. So perhaps it’s a good time to start thinking of where you are, where you want to be, and how you will get there. Maybe we do need to declutter our minds, simplify our days, and learn to appreciate our blessings. Perhaps we should consider disposing of our old grudges or tidying up our bad attitudes. The thing is, we are the only ones who can start ourselves anew. Spring has sprung so there is no time like the present for your new beginning. In your prayers remember to be thankful for your blessings, but also remember to seek God’s guidance on your future. He is willing to make you like new, but He needs you to be onboard with the plan.
Be strong in the Lord and be kind!
