Have No Fear

Linda Soller | Oct 28, 2019

Driving to work especially early one day I noticed a car already parked next to the trail through the woods. Someone was most likely having their early morning run. It was pitch dark outside. The thought that raced through my mind was, I would be too scared to run in those woods in the dark. It’s not that I’m a particularly fearful person, but my reaction to that scenario was instant and strong. I know people who love to be frightened by movies. I am not one of them. With Halloween this week fear is on the minds of many.

Life can be scary without masks and spooky music. Depending on where you live you are confronted with fear on a regular basis. It might be crime, gang violence, crazy drivers, or even the weather. There is no shortage of scary things in the world. God knows and sees what we face. It’s no wonder that the most common phrase in the Bible is a form of “do not fear”. God also knows that when He tells us we need not fear most of us will still experience fear. Perhaps that is why it’s repeated so many times in the Bible. We need to hear it over and over again. Let’s face it, there is a difference between the fear we have that keeps us safe and stops us from leaping off tall buildings and fear of the unknown, the out of our control things.

God is saying have no fear of living the life He has planned for you. Have no fear of Him deserting you, He won’t. Have no fear of what He calls you to do, He will give you the strength you need. Have no fear of loving Him, He will support you in the face of oppression. Use your brain, share your love and kindness, hold fast to hope, and have no fear.

Have a great week! :o) Linda
